Moving to a new city is always a leap of faith, but finding my way to Covington, Kentucky, felt more like a happy accident. I didn’t know much about Northern Kentucky when I first arrived. I only knew it was across the river from Cincinnati. But it didn’t take long for the charm of this historic city to pull me in.
What struck me first was the walkability. Wandering through Mainstrasse Village, with its incredible architecture, local shops, and tree-lined streets, I felt an immediate sense of connection. The coffee shops became my regular haunts, offering not just great espresso, but a window into a vibrant, welcoming community.
That sense of community is really what made me stay. People here know their neighbors. They care about their city, its history, and its future. The mix of old-world charm and new energy makes Covington feel alive in a way I hadn’t experienced before.
I started this blog, the Covington Dispatches, to share that experience with others. Whether you’re a long-time resident, a recent transplant like myself, or just passing through, I hope these candid stories and reflections capture a bit of what makes life in Covington so special.
